Two of these new drivers have stood out above the rest: LukeSuds and Kyle J. Genske. With that being said, let's review how the second round of this season of competition went.

Race Highlights

With the grid set around the sub-minute circuit, over 30 drivers got themselves onto the grid for 20 minutes of tight racing action. To catch up on all of the racing action; make sure to watch the Extended Highlights video for Round 2.

Season 2 / Round 2 / Extended Highlights

The opening lap of the race saw Richard Dempsey get away from the line cleanly and without issues, holding his position at the front of the field. Behind, however, as drivers tried to file through turn 2, an accident in the midfield saw three cars off track on the exit, with one facing the wrong way. That wasn't going to be the only crash on lap one, though, as The Hearnster lost control of his Mini Stock down the hill and towards turn 7, ending up in the barrier. As he swung down the hill, another car veered off circuit to avoid contact.

Lap Three

Matt Malone and POWski fought it out for 5th position on lap 5. With Malone diving up the inside of POWski through turn 2, he managed to hold it on the outside through the following left hander. Fortunately for him, the turn back to the right for turn 4 allowed him to stick it back up the inside of POWski. Matt Malone was given space into turn 5 as they approached the crest, but by backing out, POWski left himself vulnerable to Slugger who was charging up behind. Slugger jumped to POWski's inside into turn 6, but it wouldn't be enough and Slugger would have to settle back into 7th for the time being.

Lap Six

Lap six saw a battle between Dauntless, TonyJabroni and Big Al. With an ambitious move out of turn 4, Dauntless was stuck to the outside of TonyJabroni as they headed towards the crest. Unable to make a move, he settled back in behind, but Big Al was keeping him on his toes.

Lap Seven

After being passed through the final turn of the previous lap, Dauntless moved back up the inside of Big Al to regain his position.

Lap Eight

Lap eight saw Malone make another move in the race, this time to the inside of Mech_Arm in turn 1, moving himself up to 4th position and on the hunt of LukeSuds, 2 seconds ahead.

Lap Nine

Checkers, eager to make up for his retirement in round 1, took to the inside of MisterAnderz at turn one of the ninth lap, with Kyle J. Genske closely following behind.

Lap Twelve

After running wide into the first turn, Slugger was under attack from POWski, who wanted to move back up the order in the race. However, as the turn switched back across, Slugger regained the inside line and solidified his position ahead of the trailing cars, including Full Send star, Bobsjelly.

Lap Eighteen

Lap Eighteen arrived, and Slugger was sitting in 6th position; with a number of charging drivers close behind. Covered by less than a second behind Slugger was POWski, Kyle J. Genske and Checkers. For the defending champion, it was important he held onto these positions with rivals Richard Dempsey and Matty Gwill soaring away at the front of the field once more.

Into the first turn POWski attempted a move on the outside, opening up the door for Kyle J. Genske to stick his nose to the inside. POWski made a quick trip to the grass as the track switched back across. With Genske ahead, POWski made a slide through turn 4, forcing him to give up another position; this time to Checkers. A move for 6th ultimately costing POWski, as he fell to 9th.

Lap Nineteen

A lock up into the first turn of lap 19 allowed Kyle J. Genske to make the pass on the outside line, confirming that position before leaving the corner. Through the next turn and POWski was on a mission to move back up the inside, with an ambitious move past Checkers, placing him back into 8th. However, another slide on the exit and Checkers floated straight back past.

Out of turn 6, and down the hill, Slugger caught his wheels onto the grass, forcing his car into the wall. Fortunately, he kept it facing the right way; only relinquishing positions to Checkers and POWski who managed to pass Slugger without any further incidents.

Lap Twenty

The final lap of the race; Richard Dempsey with a consistent gap throughout the race to Matty Gwill turned the laps of the circuit one last time. But disaster behind. After going off at the final turn the previous lap, Slugger hit the moneyshift, blowing his engine as he entered turn one. 9th position gone.

As the final lap ticked around, the final podium place became a battle between new-comer LukeSuds and league organiser, Matt Malone. Coming out on top by less than 2 tenths of a second, LukeSuds was able to defend the podium, meaning the final podium once again saw Dempsey and Gwill, with LukeSuds visiting the rostrum for the first time.
